The CaseTrust for Education is scheme is facilitated by the Consumer Association of Singapore (CASE) for the education industry in Singapore. The scheme will enhance the confidence of international students and their parents in the quality of education in Singapore .

The regulatory framework focuses on building trustworthiness, professionalism, as well as business and academic excellence. In addition, it ensures high quality student welfare practices and standards and gives Privates Schools the right to enroll international students.

• Applicable to all International Student's.
• Local Students may opt to pay for insurance as well.
• Courses are conducted on a full-time basis only.
A full-time course is one that is conducted at least 3 hours daily from Monday to Friday in the day.

Since April 2006, Aesthetics International Academy has put in place a Student Protection Scheme that is endorsed by the Consumer Association of Singapore (CASE). Our students can be guaranteed that fees paid to the school are protected by a NTUC Master Insurance Policy.

With this scheme, student's paid fees are protected for the following events:

• Loss of tuition fees paid in advance by the insured student to the PEO and not refunded, if the student cannot start or complete this course as a result of the PEO becoming insolvent or being required by the Singapore authorities to stop operations.
• PEO's failure to pay sum awarded by Singapore Court to the insured student on tuition fees paid by the insured student to the PEO.
• Complimentary SGD$10,000 benefit covering the insured student's accidental death or total permanent disability by accident.


Student who are accepted to study in a school are required to enter an official contract with the school before they are enrolled in the course.

Aesthetics International Academy offers a nurturing learning environment for its local and international students.

As a student from a foreign country, there will be times when you need help and advise. Students experiencing anxiety or troubled by some events, they may seek assistance from the school Support Program.

As part of our main concern, we have in-house qualified staffs and Course Consultant to discuss and assist students in difficulties or any matter related to their courses and academic performance that they face during and throughout their stay in Singapore.

It is essential for students to have a comfortable and affordable accommodation. Students who require assistance in accommodation are strongly encouraged to approach Aesthetics International Academy 2 weeks prior to arrival in Singapore for assistance in locating a suitable place to stay. Aesthetics International Academy will recommend a reliable and professional agency to handle the student's accommodation in accordance with their comfortable budget and requirements. Accommodation may be found in 2 main categories: individual or shared. In additional to paying the full cost of the course, foreign students must also meet their own living expenses. The cost of living in Singapore is reasonable on individual lifestyle habit. It is estimated that student will spend between SDG$500 to SDG$800 per month depending on their lifestyle. The following is an estimated breakdown on the expenses per month:

Accomodation:

*1 to 2 person per room

International students are advised to arrive 2 weeks prior to commencement of class. Early arrival allows student to settle their lodging and complete the student pass procedure which includes the medical check-up.

Orientation is aimed at assisting new students to settle down in Singapore and be familiarizes with the Aesthetics International Academy and learning environment. An orientation package containing information about the Academy and Singapore will be given to each student.

Aesthetics International Academy will take care of the student pass application for international students. Upon the arrival in Singapore , an international student will be given a Social Visit Pass for a minimum of 2 weeks at the airport at the point of entry. The student may be asked to show his/her letter of admission. After registration, a Student's Pass may then be applied within the validity of an individual's Social Visit Pass. Our Student Officer at Aesthetics will then facilitate the application with Immigration and Checkpoints Authority in Singapore.


Step 1: Registration
Submit AIA enrolment form and immigration ( ICA ) forms.
To make 20% of total course fee for the course applied.
To produce all relevant documentation to Aesthetics International Academy for verification.

Step 2: Letter of Acceptance
Upon verification of submitted documents and receiver of 20% course fee, Aesthetics International Academy will issue applicant with a Letter of Acceptance stating the validity period for stay in Singapore . The letter will includes both start and end dates.

Step 3: Submission of application to ICA
All submitted documents will be submitted to ICA through the Drop-In-Box located at the ICA Building .

Step 4: Processing Time
It is estimated that a period of 4-6 weeks is required to process Student pass.

Step 5: Approval of Student Pass
Approval letter will be posted to Aesthetics International Academy via mail by ICA . Thereafter, Aesthetics International Academy will notify applicant to go for a medical checkup.

Step 6: Final Stage
Applicant to submit the following to Aesthetics International Academy upon approval of student pass:
• Medical report
• Fee to process security bond


Upon submission and approval of all required documents, ICA will notify the school to collect the student pass. After which, the school will make a photocopy of the student's pass for reference before issuing the pass to applicant.



Student Pass Application Checklist:

• 2 copies of Application Form , Form 16 , Form V36 and V39S – duly completed and signed by applicant at the relevant sections (the first set of forms must be original. The second set may be photocopies of the original set).
• 2 recent passport-sized photographs (colour / black & white);
• 1 copy of Form V36A duly completed and signed by the school.
• Applicant's birth certificate (original or certified true copy);
• Applicant's highest educational certificates and result transcripts; (original or certified true copy);
• Applicant's travel document including particular page and travel document's date of expiry (photocopy);
• Documentary proof of financial ability in the form of bank statements / fixed deposit accounts / saving accounts (original or certified true copy).


Terms and Conditions for Student Pass holders:

• Student's pass is issued to the foreign student for him/her to attend the full-time course only as stated in the Student's Pass.
• Each foreign student should apply for a Student's Pass before the commencement of the course.
• The foreign student is required to complete and submit Form 16 , Form V39S and Form V36 together with the relevant supporting documents for the application of a Student's Pass.
• (Aesthetics International Academy to furnish applicant with Form 26A)
• The local sponsor of each successful applicant to furnish Aesthetics International Academy with Security Bond and Security Deposit with amount ranging from SGD$1,000 to SGD$5,000 in
the form of Banker's Guarantee or Casher's Order or payment by NETS in order to issue Student's Pass to applicant.
• Security Deposit will be forfeited if the student fails to comply to the conditions stated in invoice.
• Students from the People's Republic of China are required to submit their Student's Pass applications through Singapore Embassy in Beijing . The address is appended as follows:-

• A CASE Standard student should not be allowed to work in the school premises in any capacity.
• He/She should not be allowed to study without a Student's Pass.
• The foreign student is also required to surrender his/her Student's Pass to ICA for cancellation within 7 days after the cessation or termination of his/her studies.
• ICA considers every Student's Pass application on individual merits and reserves the right to cancel the Student's Pass should the foreign student found to be engaged in undesirable activities or working without a Work Permit/Employment Pass or the consent of the Controller of Immigration.
• Aesthetics International Academy will closely monitor the attendance of the students and to report to ICA immediately if:-
• The foreign student has failed to attend classes for a continuation period of 7 days or more without any valid reasons; and
• The foreign student has not attended classes regularly i.e. where the percentage of the attendance is 90% or below without any valid reason.

Aesthetics International Academy will provides and make available to student personal career profiling and self-assessment tools to assist student in their career exploration.

Employers in major spas and smaller practices in the health and beauty industries have always sought for Aesthetics International Academy graduates for employment. At Aesthetics International Academy, we assist and guide our students to explore and pursue their career bases on core competency and area of interest.

However, it depends on the individual student's performance in their practical skills, theoretical knowledge, qualifications and experiences. Singapore labour law, like many countries gives their first priority to its own citizen first, Foreign citizens seeking employment pass through their potential or prospective employer, will subject to the approval by the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

Depending on global economic growth, possibility for a career opportunity in Singapore for students who posses the relevant experience and skills will be much higher.

A grievance is defined as dissatisfaction over any condition of study or the school which has adverse effect on the student.

An aggrieved student must represent himself or herself at all steps of the grievance procedure. Other person(s) may be selected by the aggrieved student to assist at each step of the procedure at the aggrieved student's discretion, provided that the selected person(s) agrees to help. Meetings held at each step of the grievance procedure shall, whenever possible, take place during regular working hours. When circumstances require meetings outside regular hours, they shall be mutually agreed upon. Failure of the school to reply to the student's grievance, within the time limits specified, grants the student the opportunity to take the grievance to the next step. If student fails to appeal from one step to the next step within the time limits specified, the grievance shall be considered settled on the basis of the school's last decision, and the grievance will not be subject to further appeal or consideration.

At any step in the grievance procedure, if either party (the student or the school) believes that an extension of the time limit for action is required, the party may request for an extension of the time limit, and it shall be mutually agreed.

Student's Grievance Procedure

Step 1: Any students who believe that he/she has a grievance shall take up the matter by submitting a Feedback/Compliant Form or a written email to any our Consultant/Trainer within five (5) working days of its occurrence.

Step 2: The Compliant shall be entered into student's grievance register and be acknowledged by the Principal. The principal of the academy shall assign an investigating staff to respond to Student's grievance within 5 working days. The investigating staff shall provide an opportunity for full discussion of the grievance with the aggrieved student.

Step 3: Investigating staff will report status of compliant and investigation to Principal. Thereafter, Principal will meet up with student to inform the status of compliant investigation and discusses on solutions offered within fourteen (14) working days.

Step 4: If the response of the principal in STEP 3 is unsatisfactory to the student and does not settle the issue, the Student and Aesthetics International Academy shall refer the dispute to the Consumer Association of Singapore (CASE) Mediation Centre as an alternate form of redress.


Regarding Examination Gradings


Step 1:If the student believe that the grades or results by the examiner is incorrect either on the Theory or Practical Examination, the student can make an appeal by writing in to the school (Aesthetics International Academy) stating clearly the reasons for their appeal to the principal.

Step 2:The principal and the tutors will access the case carefully and reply to the student within 14 days (2 weeks).

Step 3:If the school feel that the reasons given by the student is not valid, the school will write a letter addressing to the student, with supporting reasons for rejecting their appeal.

Step 4:However, if the school believes that the reasons provided by the student for the appeal is valid, the principal will then write a letter to CIBTAC, setting out the reasons for the student's appeal on their results.

1. Withdrawal for Cause:

The student shall be entitled to immediately withdraw from the Course by giving written notice (no electronic-mail shall be considered valid notice) to Aesthetics International Academy of his/her intention to do so under the following circumstances:
• Aesthetics International Academy fails, for any reason, to commence the Course on the Commencement Date;
• Aesthetics International Academy fails, for any reason, to complete the Course by the Completion Date subject tothe Student completing his/her modules within the expected academic duration.
• Aesthetics International Academy terminates the Course for any reason prior to completion of the Course;

Or

• Aesthetics International Academy is in material breach of its obligation under this Agreement.

Aesthetics International Academy shall, as soon as practicable after receiving the Student's notice of withdrawal (and in any event no more that fourteen (14) days after receiving such notice) refund to the Student:

a. The entire amount of the Course Fees and Deposit; and
• the none tuition fee and/or the Additional Fees.

2. Withdrawal without Course and Refunds:

When the Student withdraws from the Course for other reasons, Aesthetics International Academy shall as soon as practicable after receiving the Student's written notice of withdrawal (and in any event no more than fourteen (14) working days after receiving such notice) refund to the Student the entire amount (100%).

Student is required to submit a written notice (no electronic-mail shall be considered valid notice) to Aesthetics International Academy of his/her intention to withdraw from Course.

The percentage of fee refunded is based only on the total course fee payable.

A SGD$200.00 administrative charge is applicable upon withdrawal from the course.

Deposits made are strictly not Refundable nor Transferrable.

* The school reserved the rights to review and decline any refund application.

2. Withdrawal without Course and Refunds:

If Student's written notice of withdrawal is received:
100% 30 days < before the commencement date
70% 10 days < before the commencement date
50% 5 days > after the commencement date
30% Between 5th and 10th days after the commencement date
0% 10 days < after the commencement date

Under the Private Education Act legislated in December 2009, a Council for Private Education (CPE) was set up to regulate the private education industry in Singapore. All Private Education Institutions (PEIs) are required to comply with the regulations under the Act in order to continue operations.



1. PEI Student Contract:

Aesthetics International Academy will enter into a PEI-Student contract with our students.

The PEI-Student Contract lays out the important terms and conditions such as:

• Course title with modules or subjects clearly listed
• Date of commencement and completion of each course
• Scheduled holidays
• Examinations and/or assignment dates for each intake/course
• Name of organisation awarding/conferring the results and certificates
• Fee collection schedule
• Withdrawal, transfer & refund policy

2. Fee Protection Scheme (FPS):

The CPE requires all students’ paid course fee to be protected. The FPS serves to protect the student’s fees in the event the PEI is unable to continue operations due to insolvency, and/or regulatory closure. In addition, the FPS protects the student if the PEI fails to pay penalties or to return fees to the student arising from judgements made against it by the Singapore courts. Aesthetics has appointed Lonpac Insurance Berhad to be the FPS provider for our students. The insurance coverage shall commence from the date of payment of the fees till the due date of the next payment or the course end date whichever is earlier. More details of the FPS can also be found in the FPS Instruction Manual, available at CPE’s website- www.cpe.gov.sg

3. Medical Insurance:

All international and local students are required to purchase medical insurance throughout their course of studies with Aesthetics.

Local students (Singaporeans and PRs) who already have existing medical insurance coverage of $20,000 and above may opt-out of this scheme.

If students require medical insurance, they need to purchase the medical insurance with Aesthetics at a fee of $50 per annum (including prevailing GST). Insurance will be purchase under AXA Insurance Singapore Pte Ltd.
